To my friends,
Calm and silence. A fundamental gesture has been made here that sharply highlights culture and the aspirations of some to control it—on either side—which means that culture is an obedient material.
What is culture? I write. I spoke up. I’m a negotiator for an hour or two. I say I. I assume once again my personal attitude. I fear anonymity. (I would like to control the meaning of culture.) I have no material demands to make even though I get drunk on cabbage soup. Through all that, protecting a newly acquired form of free speech, which seems precious to me, for our provincial capital.
One more word to all those who haven’t taken part in these events or who looked down on them: you shouldn’t feel you’ve sold out before being bought, or nearly.
